CoMe Stronger – Elderly men go to the museum

The main objective of CoMe Stronger project is to improve public museum services in a way that encourages more elderly men to use the services. The development work is carried out in cooperation with co-operating museums and elderly men from Finland and Estonia. Co-operating museums are Mynämäki Museum, Naantali Museum, the Estonian Agricultural Museum and the Estonian National Museum.

The project will pilot a co-development process with the groups of elderly men and cooperating museums. During the pilot, men will be gathered into user panels for co-operating museums. The task of the user panels is to come up with new ideas for museum products that will attract more elderly men to museums. The development work will be based on the principles of co-design. Before launching the user panels, ideas and inspiration will be sought from a joint workshop in Tartu, the European Capital of Culture 2024.

As a result, six new service products are co-developed to better answer to the needs of elderly men. Due to new service products, the threshold for elderly men using museum services will lower and museums will reach new target audiences.
