The first invited TUAS Fellows introduced

On Thursday 8 September TUAS’ new academic year 2016–2017 was opened. At the opening event, the new TUAS Fellow expert system was launched, the different activities within TUAS were introduced to the guests and distinguished members of the TUAS community were awarded. This year the theme of the opening ceremony was entrepreneurship.

Alumni Go!

BisnesAcademy (BA) started five years ago at TUAS on the Salo campus. Second year students established two co-operatives of about 15 students and started to do business. At the same time, they earned credit points and their studies proceeded.

Chinese nurses were coached in Beijing

In January, twelve Chinese nurses started a six-month training course to complement their nursing degrees in order to meet Finnish and EU requirements. In November 2015, the students were selected through an entrance examination which measured their language skills, nursing competence and the ability to adapt to a new culture.

Turku Game Lab success stories

Turku Game Lab is a joint working environment between the University of Turku and TUAS which provides services in game education and development. In our curriculum, students work in various roles together with our experts and project managers who coach them in game development activities.

TUAS supports the circular route towards Kupittaa

Implementing the new circular route, planned for the Turku region public transport between the student village, Kupittaa and Itäharju, is vital for both students and working life. Students and the representatives of Turku University of Applied Sciences support the route plan.

CampusSport launched – 5 gyms, 100 weekly classes

CampusSport, the joint sports services of the higher education institutions in Turku, got a jump start last week. The activities start properly on 29 August. The offering includes e.g. five gyms, a swimming pool and altogether a hundred weekly sports classes.

We got the quality label – our continuous development is working

In the audit implemented by the Finnish Education Evaluation Centre FINEEC, TUAS was awarded with a quality label, valid for six years from 12 May 2016. Our quality system meets the national criteria set for the quality management of higher education institutions, and corresponds to the European quality assurance principles and recommendations.

TUAS' admission results are published

Admission results for joint application are published latest 1 July 2016 at Studyinfo.fi. Some applicants may had been notified of the admission result before 1 July 2016 if the applicant has gained admission to his or hers highest preference. Congratulations for all our new students!

Sharing Excellence Week was about making new contacts

Last week TUAS’ Sharing Excellence Week for Administrative Staff gathered over 70 foreign participants from all over the world in ICT City. Most of the participants came from Europe, but we also had guests from China and the United States.
