Cooperation between the higher education institutions in Turku to be enhanced and expanded in technology

The higher education institutions operating in Turku – the University of Turku, Åbo Akademi University, Turku University of Applied Sciences and Novia University of Applied Sciences – have together with Turku Science Park Ltd established a letter of intent which aims at strengthening the regional educational cluster in technology.

In the summersemester.fi portal, you can select summer studies from the provision of 21 universities of applied sciences. The portal opens on 1 March 2017 and the enrolment starts on 15 March 2017.

Joint application to English-language Bachelor’s degree programmes over – even with a fee, the education attracted applicants

Joint application to foreign-language Bachelor’s degree programmes ended on Wednesday 25 January. Turku University of Applied Sciences offered three Bachelor’s degree programmes conducted in English, in the fields of engineering, business and health and well-being.

Health Campus Turku inspires innovation

Health Campus Turku will provide new cooperation opportunities between the different expert groups in the fields of social and health care. It creates a joint innovation platform for top research and education, and for the structures of the administration. Vice Rector Juhani Soini started as the new Chair of the campus at the beginning of 2017.

Reforming the education ensures the competitiveness of industry

The export industry, the engine of the Finnish economy, needs more competent engineers. The education should be quickly renewed with both short- and long-term solutions. The aim of Turku University of Applied Sciences is to double the volume of its engineering education to be able to meet this need.

Joint application to the degree programmes conducted in English started on 10 January 2017. The application period ends on 25 January at 15:00.

A Large Scale Pilot funding by the European Commission within the H2020 framework starts in January 2017

Finland is involved in the ACTIVAGE project, which promotes the well-being of older adults. The project starts in January 2017 and is one of the European spearhead projects which are focused on the utilization of the Internet of Things (IoT) technology in the treatment of the elderly.
