The Health Campus Turku network includes the Hospital District of Southwest Finland, University of Turku, Åbo Akademi University, Turku University of Applied Sciences, Novia University of Applied Sciences, and Turku Science Park as a new member.

International demand for TUAS’ expertise in education
There is clear international demand for the kind of expertise in education Turku University of Applied Sciences has. Teachers from four higher education institutes in Armenia, Georgia, Belarus and Kazakhstan visited TUAS in order to collect ideas for reforming their local education systems.

Student group from Singapore meets TUAS teaching methods and circular economy
Picking berries in the forest, corporate visits, group assignments. The multidisciplinary group of students from Singapore was immersed in circular economy during a course implemented by using the methods of innovation pedagogy, a learning approach developed at Turku University of Applied Sciences.

WIVE project uses 5G to increase the business value of automated transport, smart grids, massive machine connectivity and media delivery
Helsinki, Finland - An industry group led by Nokia Bell Labs and including several academics in Finland has established a collaboration project called WIVE (WIreless for VErticals) to make it possible for new types of industries to gain competitive advantage from the latest wireless technologies, especially 5G.

The Salo unit of TUAS, currently operating at Ylhäistentie, moves to the premises of Salo IoT Campus around the turn of the year. The relocation applies to the whole of the staff and students of Salo campus.

TUAS responds to working life needs by educating more technology specialists
Turku University of Applied Sciences responds to the growing need for technology specialists in the region in a swift course by increasing the number of student intake in the fields of engineering and construction with over 200 places from the current level. The contents of the studies will also be reformed.

Debris research on the River Aura in the international Seabin project
Decaying plants, plastic litter, cigarette ends, pieces of metal. This is what the floating debris interception device has collected from the waters of Aura, the river running through Turku. The amount of marine litter and the methods of removing the debris in the waterways are now under research as part of the international Seabin pilot project.
